President Buhari will not rest until all the Chibok girls in captivity are freed. - Tinubu

APC National party leader,Bola Asiwaju Tinubu, has said that President Buhari will not rest until all the Chibok girls in captivity are freed and completely returned to their families.

He also expressed joy over the evidence that shows that progress is being made by the government in reconnected the girls not just with their families but also their dreams and aspirations.

“I congratulate the families of these young ladies who have endured so much anxiety and pain on account of this horrendous experience. I am also grateful that these budding young stars now have the opportunity to again pursue their dreams and aspirations.

“I know there is road to recovery and readjustment ahead, but I am confident that the support of their families, our communities, and the assistance of our many collaborators at home, and internationally provide the tools required for this.

“I also congratulate and thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his steadfastness and dogged effort in ensuring the release of these girls. I salute our gallant men and women in uniform who continue to make sacrifices on our behalf and have remained focused in the hot pursuit of the terrorists. “I commend all Federal Government agencies- the DSS, the NIA- and indeed our lawmakers and our other partners who remained dogged and worked assiduously to secure this release. “It is a great day for our nation and humanity when as shown there, we demonstrate that every life is vital and must be fought for, no matter what it takes. I know that the joy of this outcome will inspire and encourage the government and all concerned to do everything within human possibility to secure the release of our other daughters who are still in captivity. “The President, I am assured, will not rest on his oars until all the girls in captivity are freed and returned to their families. Security and ending the Boko Haram insurgency remains atop the agenda of the APC-led government and I am happy that the evidence is there to see that progress is being made on this front,” he said.

To those who doubt the Chibok Girls Kidnap, I pray something like this never happens to you or someone you love - Aggrieved Mother pens and Open Letter

People are of the opinion that the chibok girls saga is nothing but a scam and a big lie, but some others are filled with pity for the said parents of these girls (if it really happened).

As news of the recent release of 21 chibok girls and the promise that more will be rescued soon, the people can hope for the best again.

Below is an open letter from a sad mother who narrates all she has had to go through since the abduction of her child

 Dear doubters,

I cannot put into words the pain I have been through since 2014 when I was informed of the news of the abduction of my daughter by Boko Haram terrorist. I cried because I felt she alongside other girls who were taken from their school in Chibok would be killed immediately. I resigned myself to fate that I had lost a daughter all because I chose to send her to school.

When I heard that 56 girls had escaped from Boko Haram, my hope was raised. I wished my daughter would be one of them but alas, I was thrown into another round of tears when my girl was not one of them.

Anytime Boko Haram released photos of videos, I would scan through looking for my daughter but I never saw her. I resigned myself again to the possibility that she had died. In 2016 however, I saw a Boko Haram video in which my daughter was present. It was the most sorrowful day of my life. From a young innocent girl, she had grown into a woman. I might have seen the video more than 100 times looking for signs she was trying to communicate something with me. I found it hard to deal with how far she has aged. Her eyes were sunken and the smile I was used to was gone. My daughter looked like a stranger! I wait for the day I will get the chance to see my daughter. A Yoruba friend said that losing a child to death is bad but losing to captors is worse. Every day, I think of my girl living among terrorists. I don’t know what she eats and if she has access to toiletries. What happens when she is sick? Would I ever get the chance to see her or will one day die?

To those people who say the kidnap of our daughter is a big lie, I pray the same thing never happens to you or someone you love before you believe it is real. Our political, ethnic or religious affiliation should not take empathy away from us. No amount of money can replace the loss of one’s child. I pray my daughter comes back home one day to me. I have suffered a lot and my tears have dried because there is no more to come. Until that day comes, I have been asked to stay strong. I am trying to.

May God rescue them all, Amen
