"I don't mind if my wife doesn’t know how to cook"
Nigerian singer, CDQ has just revealed he doesn't mind if he's wife doesn't have culinary skills.
The rapper, real name Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, while showing off his cooking skills on Accelerate TV‘s Day Pass made this revelation.
According to him, " I don’t see it as a criteria for a man to marry a woman. They say it’s tradition that a woman must know how to cook but the way I am though, I don’t mind. I don’t care whether she knows how to cook or not. "
He also revealed that he used to be a backup dancer for Kaffy when he was in the university, but had to stop because it was affecting his grades.
CDQ recently dropped his album “ Quality ”. The album is done heavily in thick Yoruba and ghetto slangs. There’s an abundance of adlibs to make the entire project read off like a street-fest, with catcalls, psst, ‘woss’, and ‘oobi’ screamed in the background of whatever track is rolling through.

Chike Okonkwo "Birth of a Nation" actor talks exposure to Nigerian culture, Nollywood
British Nigerian actor, Chike Okonkwo, was recently a guest at Pulse Nigeria, where he spoke about his exposure to Nigerian culture, Nollywood and also advised upcoming actors.
Speaking on his exposure to the Nigerian culture, the "Birth of a Nation" actor said, "One thing I have realized recently is that a Nigerian house is a Nigerian house. whether you're in Lagos or in a village in Onitsha where I am from, every home is the same."
"They feel the same, they look the same, the food is the same, the pictures on the wall is the same. The answer is I grew up in Lagos even though I grew up in London," Okonkwo added.
Advising upcoming actors, the filmmaker said, "a few things. First of all, perseverance is important. If I know anything about Nigerian people, it's that we persevere."
"You're gonna find that they are many more Nos than yeses. You have to just keep going because you know in your heart that the yes is there."
"The community is important. When I moved to Los Angeles, I had friends who were from the UK, who worked the same part as I did. And then I also had peers, people I looked up to, like David Oyelowo, who is Nigerian and British like me. It was important that I was able to connect with those people."
Okonkwo further encouraged upcoming actors to connect with him on social media, "So, I may be shooting myself in the foot by saying this, but if you're an actor or filmmaker and you want to connect, I will try and connect with you on Instagram," he said.
"It's the only social media I have, I can't handle Twitter or anything. Chike1 is my handle." he shared.
Okonkwo is popular for his role as Will in the 2016 Oscars contender, "Birth of a Nation."
His other movies include "The Last Jazzman," "Shoot the Messenger," "Derailed," "Knock-off" among others.
Actress Advice On Relationship
Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh-Churchill has shared a bit of her wisdom on relationship matters - and she is spot on.
The actress advices, among other things, that people need to stop wasting their time chasing the wrong people, and that once a mistake is made [in a relationship], repeating that same mistake makes it a matter of choice and more error.
She gives her opinion on some relationship issues when she said,
“I'm not sure why but we all do it. Many beings waste years of their lives, chasing after people they can't have, or lifestyles that aren't sustainable, for reasons we don't know.
“You can't have a person, either they will f*ck with you, or they won't. Nobody is out of your league, they just don't want you in their life.
“We are all human so we all make mistakes, but a mistake made twice is a choice. Try not to seek the best looking, or those with the most money, for these are superficial ideas and money doesn't make you happy.
“You make you happy, so if you are in a situation with a person and you have the freedom to choose, but you are unhappy, this is your fault not theirs.
“Stop wasting your time. Leave the situation. You should be looking for someone who shares sympathetic vibrations. Someone who is on your wavelength, someone who can share the same frequency as you.
“Everything is a vibration, positive or negative. All elements are made up of atoms. And these are made up of a nucleus, protons (positive), neutrons (no charge) and electrons (negative).
“Opposites attract but if someone is in a negative space, you being in a positive space, isn't necessarily going to help them and vice versa.
“You choose your own happiness, as you can choose the people you are around. (Obviously free from war, famine, poverty, drought, oppressive systems of government/religious opinions, disease etc) If you aren't happy within yourself, you can't be truly happy around others.
“Health is not just physical. I think this is why people Who know me love me, because I am happy and I love people.
“Don't chase waterfalls, on the surface they appear beautiful, but they are usually hiding rocks that will kill you”
Tonto Dikeh is married to Oladunni Churchill with whom she just celebrated her first wedding anniversary on August 29, 2016.
The actress also recently got a 2017 Lexus car from her husband . They are blessed with a son, Omodayo Churchill.

Actress's show gives Nigerian TV a bad rep
The second season of Chika Ike's ' African Diva Reality Show ' reality TV program is the reason why terrestrial TV gets a bad rep.
Not all of Nigerian television is bad but we have to admit that a lot of programmes on terrestrial TV stations shouldn't have made it from an editing suite.
African Diva Reality Show features 22 ladies between the ages of 18 and 35 in a house for weeks and is the brainchild of actress Chika Ike.
The winner will get $10,000, a brand new car, an acting contract, a cover feature in an international magazine and one year supply of Fancy Nancy accessories.
The synopsis of the show sounds pretty cute that's until you seat on your sofa and watch the reality show that pops up only on AIT.
African Diva Reality Show really shouldn't have found its way to television but unfortunately, it did. The show is poorly conceived and riddled with boring contestants. It is held back by poor execution.
That, however, is not the major sin of the reality TV show. Chika Ike makes for a poor host. Her facial expressions and mannerisms don't reflect the talents of a woman who is touted as a popular actress.
Chika Ike might have good ideas for the show but her presence holds the show back. The production can be a whole lot better, way better.
Having a reality show isn't what Chika Ike should be focused on right now. She has a popular name in Nollywood but on the streets, she has not been able to nail a mainstream hit. She needs her own blockbuster movie to define her popular career. Going to TV isn't the best direction.
Chika Ike needs to focus on churning four or five really good movies and leave reality shows to the experts.

Lai Mohammed lauds Nollywood “for taking centre stage” with movie
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji
Lai Mohammed, has commended the organisers of the newly premiered movie “The Wedding Party” for raising Nollywood artistic bar to international level.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the movie, which is a romantic comedy and a drama film, premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival version held in Lagos.
The Kemi Adetiba-directed movie had some of Africa’s biggest stars led by Richard Mofe-Damijo, Sola Sobowale, Alibaba, Iretiola Doyle, Banky W and Adesua Etomi , with the stars attending the premiere.
In his remark, Mohammed said the important thing was to see how the creative industry was moving from the margins to become one of the pillars of the economy.
He added that “ people are beginning to take the arts more seriously, a lot of things are happening. You can see the major shift that is beginning to happen.
“You can imagine the amount of investment that will go into this film, you can imagine the number of jobs it will create, that’s a challenge to us in government.
“It shows that this industry is sustainable when we provide the right environment in terms of regulatory framework, in terms of laws, in terms of protecting intellectual property.
“What is clear is that the kind of framework the government today is providing the film industry, tourism, arts and the likes, will definitely play to become a better role in the economy” , the minister added.
On his part, Cameron Bailey , the Artistic Director of the Toronto International Film Festival,
said “ we are pleased to welcome The Wedding Party by award-winning filmmaker Kemi Adetiba to the Festival.
“We are proud to present it to a global audience. Adetiba has delivered an exciting character-driven film on a grand scale, while putting her own unique spin on a familiar genre.”
Also, the Executive Producer of Ebony Life TV, Mo Abudu, said the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)’s selection of “The Wedding Party” was a true honour.
She said “ I can’t think of a better place, or a better global audience for the film’s festival Premiere than this.”
'I am not keen about sex or women'
Bobrisky has taken a frank stance regarding his sexual desires after claiming that he is not really into sex or women.
The bleaching specialist mentioned this in an interview with Vanguard News , following questions about his sexual orientation.
“I am not a womaniser but that does not mean I can’t get down with a woman.
One man’s food is another man’s poison. I am not the type who really loves sex or women.
"It takes a while for me to get into relationships. I went to a boarding school so I have been trained to be indoor.
“You hardly see me everywhere which makes it difficult to really be into women. I am only popular because God wants me to.
"I hardly attend parties or grant interviews. I didn’t struggle to be out there. Some habits are peculiar to men like drinking, smoking etc."
Concerning his relationship status, the cross dresser finally disclosed that he is indeed in a relationship with a lady currently in London.
This will no doubt relief him of more questions concerning if he is gay or not.
"My girlfriend is in London and she has been calling me to know the situation of things."
Bobrisky, who hails from a Muslim family has also disclosed that practicing Islam would have been a problem for him if he was still actively involved in it.
Is singer killing his career by collaborating with too many artistes?
Mr Eazi is to 2016 what Wizkid was to 2011/2012. The Nigerian star who has emerged as the only true breakout act of this year did it by bringing a new wave.
What has made Mr Eazi so appealing to Nigeria? His sound. Mr Eazi’s partnership with Julz is currently one that is working. Grabbing inspiration from 80s and 90s Ghanaian Highlife melodies, Julz creates a modern fusion of these sounds, and hands it to Mr Eazi, who layers his pop verses over it. Thematic direction of the songs are all romance and love-based.
Just like the 70s and the 60’s when Ghanaian Highlife was appropriated by our Nigerian fathers, the sounds from Ghana have been mixed with a Naija delivery, and it has caught on. Mr Eazi ’s reliance on a certain system of delivery and production has also been the driving force of his nascent career. There’s a uniqueness to his madness that has seen him produce his songs such as ‘Skintight’ , ‘Hollup’ , ‘ Anointing’ , and ‘Dance for me’.
But the industry is a ruthless place. The Nigerian music space is uber-competitive, with diverse sounds emanating from the country. The competitive environment breeds greatness, but its bye-product creates a culture of riffing, imitation, and copy-cats. That’s why a number of people complain about the music being the same, the themes being similar, and most of the stuff sounding that everybody draws its inspiration from the same source.
Artistes and fans are usually on the search for the next new thing. That new sound that would be so different and fresh that it creates a wave and rewards the pioneer tremendously. In 2016, Mr Eazi is that new sound. What he does with his music is novel and scintillating, and most importantly, it is hard to imitate.
“It’s your boy Eaaaaazzziiiii…” He croons, before adding the very ubiquitous phrase “Zaga dat.”
From vocal texture, to cadence and lyricism, Eazi is a tough act to imitate, hence many artistes who enviously have desired to rework his melodic magic have failed, and for those who tried just enough, all they have been able to create from their effort has been a poor replica. Being unable to strip Eazi’s style and reconstruct his elements, many have resorted to featuring him on their songs.
Mr Eazi has appeared on more collaborations than any other buzzing artistes this year. He has made songs with Eugy, IllBliss, Reminisce, Solidstar, Del’B, Rayce, Shatta Wale, DJ Neptune, DJ Spinall, Terry G, Lil Kesh, Phyno, Jeed Rogers, Ko-Jo Cue, Sarkodie, PhizBarz, Sheunakamura and many others recorded. And that’s just the ones that have been released in Nigeria.
He is also recording with Rudimental, Anne-Marie, Giggs , Riton, and others, that are yet to be released. There’s still ‘Skin tight’ remix to be done with Wizkid and many more.
Getting Mr Eazi to record for you might be relatively easy. He is an aspiring artiste looking to get all the traction that his career needs. Collaborating with numerous artistes is another way to get the music out, and gain more fans in the process.
But there’s a limit to it, and Mr Eazi might just have crossed that limit. He works so hard recording his personal stuff and collaborating that it feels like he has more collaborations than personal music. But recording takes a lot out of you, and for an artiste like Mr Eazi who is heavily involved in the tech space, collaborating might just prove detrimental to his career.
There’s still a debut album projected for a 2017 release, and he needs his energy and creativity to deliver his best work on the project. Also, you get the feeling that we just might have had too much Mr Eazi music on our playlists.
Right now, there’s a saturation of his content in the market, and as we know too much of everything isn’t healthy. The natural laws of diminishing marginal utility might kick in, and fans will become jaded. When that occurs, collaboration for all its benefits to his career, might just become a killer to his dreams and chances of success.
There might be a counter argument that to stay relevant as an artiste, you need to have content out. Yes, that’s true, but for it to be effective and reward you abundantly, that content has to be yours, not given for free to another artiste. He needs more personal stuff, not countless collaborations.
What Mr Eazi truly needs is more regulation in dropping content. Sometimes, less is more and strategy is all it takes to maintain a winning run, and keep the creator fresh and effective.
Mr Eazi’s rise in 2016 is phenomenal. He is climbing to greater heights of influence and rewards. But he is just starting, and to reach the peak, he needs his best material in the tank, to be supplied strategically to his fans. Giving it all would halt his momentum.

Davido, Ycee and Wizkid as he inks a deal with Sony Music.
The Pana' crooner shared a video clip via his Instagram page on Tuesday, November 22, showing him signing documents which puts him on the Sony roster of Nigerian artists.

The nature of the deal is yet to be revealed but if what Davido and Wizkid are doing, is anything to go by, Tekno is just getting started.
