International observers call for cancellation of Rivers’ Governorship & Assembly results via @iam_bobokanbai
The leader of African Centre for Leadership Strategies and Development, Humphrey Bekaren, who spoke on behalf of the observers, made the call in Port Harcourt. He said the observers were shocked that INEC disregarded the widely reported violent irregularities to begin the process of declaring results in the state.
"We request all lovers of democracy to join us in calling for the outright cancellation of the phony election. Unless this is done, we would have sown the seed that could eventually grow into providing a shade of fear and death over us,’’ he said.According to Bekaren, what happened in Rivers was a far cry from what election should be.
"What we saw did not meet international standard of electioneering, not even the ones set by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC,’’ he said.He said there were reported incidents like deliberate delays and diversion of electoral materials, attacks on electoral officers, widespread arson and voter intimidation.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Rivers, Mrs Gesila Khan, said INEC cancelled election in centres with reported electoral malpractices.
She said re-run elections took place in six local government areas in the state where electoral malpractices were reported.

Police Uncover MASSOB Bomb Factory in Imo State via @iam_bobokanbai
The Imo State Police Command today said it had uncovered a bomb factory at Umuokirika village in Aboh-Mbaise Local Government Area of the state.
While in a meeting with journalists in Owerri, the state capital, the Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Enwerem, said this.
Enwerem said acting on a tip-off, a team of policemen from the Command had raided the site of the factory in Umuokrika and arrested two members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the
Sovereign States of Biafra suspected to be the brains behind the illegal factory.
PUNCH reports that one of the suspects found at the site of bomb factory gave his name as Love Davidson, a resident of Nguru in Aboh-Mbaise LGA of the state, while his accomplice is named Eze Charles from Nsukka in Enugu State. A third suspect is believed to be on the run.
Although Davidson, in whose residence the bomb factory was allegedly sited, denied ever being a part of the syndicate involved in the illegal manufacture of Improvised Explosive Devices, the Police recovered a drilling machine, gunpowder, tins of paint, threads, a bucket and a bore used as shrapnel from the suspects.
However, the head of the Bomb Squad at the Command, Omowaye Timothy, has since identified the items as components used in making IEDs earlier found in some parts of the state a few months ago.

INEC releases statement ahead of Saturday's elections via @iam_bobokanbai
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received reports that some political leaders are asking members of the public to disregard its stated resolve to use Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and Smart Card Readers (SCRs) for the April 11, 2015Governorship and State Assembly elections.
A particular state governor in the North Central geo-political zone is reported to have assured voters in the state that they could come out to vote on Election Day with Temporary Voter Cards (TVCs) if they do not have the PVC, and that INEC will not be allowed to insist on the use of SCRs for voter accreditation.
Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard false assurances that contradict the regulations INEC has outlined for the Governorship and State Assembly elections. The Commission reaffirms that only voters with genuine PVCs should come out to the polling units on Election Day, and that guidelines issued on the use of SCRs for the April 11 elections will be strictly applied. Any action infringing these guidelines will be an electoral offence, and security agents will be on hand to apprehend offenders.
The Commission commends Nigerian voters for their peaceful conduct and exemplary resilience, even in the face of minor challenges, during the Presidential and National Assembly elections on March 28, 2015. It, however, considers it unfortunate that some leaders would misguide the public and thereby prepare ground for needless disruptions to the polling process on April 11. INEC hereby warns that any obstruction to the processes it has put in place for the elections by any person, no matter how highly placed, will constitute an electoral offence punishable in law.
Meanwhile, the Commission has assigned the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Kogi State, Alhaji Hussaini Halilu Pai, to supervise the conduct of the Governorship and State Assembly elections in Kano State, following the tragic demise of Alhaji Minkala Abdullahi last weekend. Before his posting as FCT REC, Alhaji Pai was Ekiti State REC, who conducted the Governorship Election of June 21, 2014.

April 11 election: Police restricts movement from 8am-5pm via @iam_bobokanbai
In a bid to further ensure safety and security in the forthcoming Gubernatorial and State Houses of Assembly elections holding on Saturday, April 11, 2015, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba CFR, NPM, NPOM, mni has ordered a restriction of vehicular movement in all the thirty-six (36) States of the Federation from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, April 11, 2015 only.This restriction excludes vehicles on essential duty such as Fire Service, Ambulances and vehicles used by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and law enforcement/security agencies.
There is no restriction of vehicular movement in the Federal Capital Territory as there is no election taking place there on the said date.
The IGP assures that adequate security logistics and manpower have been strategically deployed to achieve a most conducive electioneering atmosphere. In this regard, Policemen for election duty have been properly briefed on their roles as stipulated in the Electoral Act. They are expected to be professional, non-partisan, civil but firm in their approach and relation to the public.
Meanwhile, citizens are enjoined to remain vigilant and report all suspicious movements or dealings to appropriate Police authority.

For some who took with a pinch of salt, news that Socrates Uduk had been taken into the entertainment plane of Owen Gee, recent video of Owen Gee’s speech at the latest IC-Cube National Youth Conference 2014, is here to clear your doubt.
In his speech the award winning comedian, actor, TV host, model and United Nations Ambassador for Peace, Owen Gee, talked in detail on how he met Socrates Uduk and how Socrates Uduk is an exceptionally intelligent young guy.
Present while he was giving his talk was veteran movie producer, Zeb Ejiro as well as a host of youth who attended the conference.
As can be seen in the video, Owen Gee corroborates series of news which made the rounds end of last year that Socrates Uduk had been discovered by Owen Gee.
After being discovered by Owen Gee, Socrates Uduk has also been made brand model of Africanloaded.com and has released a new single titled “Cure My Craze” where he featured award winning popular musician, Jaywon. It is confirmed that video of the song has been shot and soon to be released. We hear that more entertainment goodies are in the pipe for Socrates Uduk.
The video which is available on youtube, is subscripted in English language and translated into French and Spanish language which may be a pointer that Owen Gee is poised to place Socrates Uduk on international stages.
