I don't care if Obaseki Betrays me - Oshiomole

Outgoing Governor of Edo state has said he does not care if his successor Godwin Obaseki betrays him after taking over

Oshiomhole said this when responding to a question on whether he was worried that he and Obaseki might later fall out with each other as witnessed in some other states where ex-governors had conflicts with their successors.

He explained that such conflict often arises when former governors refuse to accept that their tenure is over.
“That is very important if you say he (Obaseki) will disappoint me, I am not the state.

I am only one out of about four million Edo people.

So, his obligation and his loyalty should be to the people of Edo State,” he said.

“The oath of office he is going to subscribe to says that he will defend the constitution of Nigeria, he will do everything to uplift the quality of lives of Edo people. Nothing in his oath office will include ‘I shall not betray my predecessor’ because I have no interest to be betrayed.”

Oshiomole's Legacy was Vital for Obaseki's Victory

Special Assistant to the Edo state Govenor on entertainment Roland Igbadumhe, has said that the unprecedented developmental accomplishment by out-going Gvernor Adams Oshomhole, won the election for All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Godwin Obaseki.

Roland Igbadumhe, aka ‘Youngest old man’ who is also a comedian spoke with newsmen in Benin, andsaid that the good work of APC led-government of Oshiomhole, spoke ‘eloquently’ during the campaign and at the election.

Roland described the eight-year tenure of Governor Oshiomhole as second to none in the South-South geo-political zone. He said: “You can go across the states, from Edo South through Edo Central to Edo North, the rural communities and see for yourself.

The Okpekpe people in Etsako were completely cut off from civilization and so were the people of Igbanke in Edo South before Oshiomhole came in. Those communities can now boast of good roads and even street lights courtesy of Oshiomhole, not to talk of the secondary and primary schools where pupils and students were forced to learn under tress as if they were in the Stone Age before the coming of Oshiomhole. Now, you can see the schools complete with modern facilities comparable to those in the United States.” and Europe. There is no one who will see these accomplishments and see vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after their eight years of disaster.”
