Ex-Chelsea star says club paid him £50,000 to keep s*x abuse ordeal quiet

After 40 years of torment, Gary Johnson hoped he would get justice for the abuse he says he suffered as a Chelsea FC youth player.

Yet the ex-forward, who said he was s*xually assaulted by chief scout Eddie Heath hundreds of times in three years, said he had no success with the police and that the Professional Footballers Association did not return his calls. He felt he had no other option but to approach his super-rich former club, which refused to accept any blame but last year paid him £50,000 to keep quiet. Now, in an exclusive interview, Gary, 57, bravely waives his right to anonymity to share his experiences to support other victims of the soccer abuse scandal. Gary, part of Chelsea’s first team from 1978 to 81, said Heath groomed him and sexually assaulted from the age of 13. He said: “I felt shame, I felt my childhood had been taken away. I spent my late teens in turmoil, absolute turmoil.

And speaking of the payment from his old club, he said: “I think that they were paying me to keep a lid on this. “Millions of fans around the world watch Chelsea. They are one of the biggest and richest clubs in the world.

All their fans deserve to know the truth about what went on. I know they asked me to sign a gagging order and how many others are there out there? “They may have paid others for their silence. I hope and pray no clubs are allowed to cover this up – no one should escape justice. We need total transparency now for the good of the game.”

This week Chelsea waived the clause in Gary’s settlement banning him from speaking about abuse after after details of his claim were leaked to the media.

Hazard Fire!!! Eden Hazard Scores 5 Straight Goals In 5 Consecutive Matches For the Very first Time in his carrer.

The 25-year-old’s fine run includes strikes against Leicester City and Manchester United and he is now up to five league goals for the season

Eden Hazard is in the midst of his best scoring run ever, with his goal against Everton meaning he has found the net in four straight league fixtures.

The Belgium international was the Premier League’s Player of the Year prize after a devastating season in 2014-15 but his performances dipped last term. Under Antonio Conte, he has returned with a vengeance.

Never before in his career had he scored in four successive league encounters, even when he played for Lille in Ligue 1.

However, he achieved that feat on Saturday when he cut in from the left wing to slide a shot into the corner of the net to score his side’s first against the Toffees. He grabbed a brace after the restart after some good link-up play with Pedro.

The 25-year-old’s current run started when he scored against Leicester City and continued with strikes against Manchester United and Southampton. He currently has six goals in the Premier League this season.

Victor Moses The Perfect Wingman For Chelsea… See His Amazing Performance Stats

The 25-year-old Nigerian is discovering his true potential in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation and could be vital if the Blues are to win the Premier League title come May

Antonio Conte’s decision to introduce Victor Moses into his Chelsea side has proved to be an inspired one. The winger was instrumental in the Blues’ 2-0 win at Southampton on Sunday evening, moving them to within a point of leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table.

Chelsea’s upturn in form since Moses has featured is no coincidence. Since the Nigerian has taken up the right wing-back berth in Conte’s new-found 3-4-3 formation, the Blues have won four from four, beating Hull, Leicester, Manchester United and Southampton, without conceding a goal.

During the Blues’ trip to St Mary’s, Gary Neville made a throwaway comment suggesting keeping clean sheets is down to mentality. Moses went some way to proving the former Manchester United right-back correct.

Conte’s pronounced actions on the sideline were matched by Moses’s determination to harry the opposition and force them to give up possession. His pace, power and pure athleticism allowed him to stride up and down the right flank and he found success against a narrow Southampton formation.

It was his clever pass behind the Saints defence which allowed Eden Hazard to open the scoring – his fifth of the season. He also tested Fraser Forster in the Southampton goal with two powerful strikes from wide positions, one with his left foot and one with his right, the former sparking panic amongst the home defence and almost leading to another Hazard goal.

But it’s Moses’s work in his own half that has impressed so much. No player on the pitch regained possession more times than the Nigerian (9), and he continually tucked in to support Cesar Azpilicueta on the right side of Conte’s back three.

The standing ovation from the Chelsea fans when replaced in the late stages of the game was a reward for his relentless hard work.

So inconsistent over the past couple of seasons, and often so erratic when powering forward, Moses is steadily settling into a tailor-made role under Conte and could very well be key to Chelsea’s Premier League title hopes come the end of the season.

'IT'S HUMILIATING' - MOURINHO SLAMS CONTE FOR CHELSEA CELEBRATIONS

The Portuguese criticised his opposite number's antics on the touchline as they embraced following Chelsea's 4-0 win over the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge on Sunday
Jose Mourinho reportedly slammed Antonio Conte for humiliating him on the touchline during Manchester United's 4-0 defeat against Chelsea on Sunday.

Goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante done the damage as Mourinho lost on his return to his former club at Stamford Bridge.

Conte was his typical exuberant self as Chelsea destroyed Mourinho's men to record their third straight Premier League win, celebrating Kante's strike wildly in the dugout area in particular.

And as Mourinho and Conte embraced at the end of the match, the former appeared to criticise his opposite number's antics as the fourth goal went in.

"Don't do that [celebrate] at 4-0. 1-0 okay, but 4-0 is humiliating,” Mourinho was filmed saying in Conte's ear.

When asked what he told Conte at the end of the affair by Sky Sports , Mourinho refused to comment.
