Lagos Fashion And Design Week 2016
Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) is a multiday fashion event platform that aims to drive the Nigerian and ultimately, the African fashion industry; by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of African designers in the fashion capital of Lagos, Nigeria.
The 2016 edition that happens to be the 6th edition kicked off on Wednesday, October 26 and runs till Saturday, October 29, 2016. The event took place at the federal palace hotel, Victoria island Lagos.
Although a runway event, it does not just see models strutting the runway, but also provides a physical platforms that has gradually re-positioned fashion as a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Nigeria.he show has a unique line up of fashion designers in Africa, including :

Award winning mobile platform, Fets, also announced it's partnership, in which served as the primary payment processing partner for the event.
The managing director Mrs Omotade Odunowo said; " the fashion industry in Nigeria has it's own economy with a list of players in the value chain. From the fabric seller to the pattern cutter, tailors, detailed designers, distributors. And so on she explained"
Activities that held include:
• LFDW Informative seminars facilitated by established creatives across Lagos, Enugu, Calabar and Abuja that encourage knowledge transfer, information exchange and networking opportunities across board.
• LFDW runway shows and presentations featuring new season collections from designers in the African fashion industry.
• LFDW showrooms featuring fashion products, textiles and accessories.
• Fashion business series that encourage conversations with key players from the Nigerian and Pan African fashion industry as a useful tool for exchanging ideas, networking and developing the fashion industry.
