Actor Segun Arinze Disapproves Of Current Nollywood Actors

     Segun Arinze has criticized the new set of Nollywood actors, terming them as pretentious and lacking discipline.
   The veteran actor commented about this in an interview with Hip TV News , where he added that the new entries only show proficiency in phonetics.
“Today’s set of Nollywood actors are not grounded. What they know how to do is to speak phonetics.
“Most of these guys are pretentious. They are only interested in who has the highest number of likes or followers on their social media platforms.
“Most of them are not even disciplined and they lack the knowledge; they only want to be popular,”
“I am sorry to say this but the truth is that today’s crop of Nollywood actors are not grounded. Talent is not the only thing you need; you also have to be grounded."

    The A-list actor began his career in Ilorin, Kwara State , and has featured in a high number of movies.
Some of these include "Silent Night", "Across the Niger", "Family on Fire" and "Black Arrow" . The latter earned him the alter ego of the same name.

Ice Prince To Release New Ablum

   Ice Prince ’s third studio album “Jos To The World” will be released this October.
The singer announced via social media that his third studio album will be released globally on October 28, 2016.

Ice Prince has in the past months teased fans on the album, with multiple photos and two video teasers containing tracks from the project. Three singles from the project have also been released – ‘Chike’ , ‘Excellency’, ‘Trillions’.
   The project will the first the rapper is releasing under his new record label, Super Cool Cats. His previous full-length projects, “Everybody Loves Ice Prince” (2011) and “Fire Of Zamani” (2013), were both released under Chocolate City, a label he publicly cut ties with in 2016.
    The rapper is gunning for a third album, and he is pulling all the stops to get it to fruition. First single ‘ Chike’ hit a brick wall after massive rejection. ‘Excellency’ , the second single is yet to spark and become a hit. The third one is here, and it has the added benefit of being an A-list affair.
Phyno is drafted in to bring on his star power and fan base the way of Ice Prince. The Eastern rapper is having a swell 2016, after the success of ‘Connect’ and ‘Fada fada’. He joins forces with Ice Prince to amplify a new song.
‘Trillions’ is pure trap music. Produced by TUC , the new song is defined by a chiming synth, and its drum patterns. Ice Prince vibes on the beat, alternating his cadence to maintain dynamism on the song. He achieves this by dovetailing with chants from Phyno, and a verse which adds to it all.

PDP Supports First Lady Aisha Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has also declared its readiness to register Aisha and give her a membership card

Mrs Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has been offered an opportunity to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after she lampooned the government of her husband as being hijacked by a cabal.

Aisha’s interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has generated a lot of controversies recently. While some have supported her, others have castigated her.

However, the PDP, through its former deputy national publicity secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, said, in a report by the Telegraph, that it was ready to register the wife of the president and give her a membership card.
The report further quoted Jalo as comparing Buhari with America’s Donald Trump over the Nigerian leader’s reaction to his wife’s interview.
Buhari had said his wife belongs to the kitchen among others.

Tragic : Fire Guts Bayelsa's Chairman BIR house, Kills his son and girlfriend

A fire outbreak at the residence of the Bayelsa Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue, Mr Nimibofa Ayawei, on Saturday claimed two lives

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the two victims were Ayawei’s son and his girlfriend, who were in the building, located in Akenfa, a suburb of Yenagoa.


NAN reports that residents assisted in putting out the fire and saved the building from being burnt down.

A family source, James Akan, it was reported that the two victims were Mike Ayawei and his girlfriend, whose name could not be immediately ascertained.

Akan said the fire started early on Saturday as Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company restored power supply, raising suspicion that the incident might be from power surge.

Akan said: “The family members have deposited the remains of the two persons at the mortuary, it is really a pathetic sight.

“As they restored light, there was a loud noise like explosion and other occupants of rooms in the house started running for safety.

“Mike was trying to save his girlfriend before they were caught up by the fire.

“It is a pity, others even broke the protector in an effort to save their lives but help came too late, he unfortunately died trying to save his girlfriend.”

Akan said Ayawei just recovered from serious ailment and was away for burial when the fire broke out.

He said the family was in grief and would soon prepare for the burial of the victims considering that they were young people.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Asinim Butswat, said the command received a distress call that a house was burning and immediately dispatched a response team.

Head of Fire Service in Yenagoa, Dennis Obumor, said the service was not contacted during the fire, adding that the agency was unaware of the incident.

I can't tell how the negotiations went for the release of the chibok girls, i wasn't aware

Mohammed Buhari has denied knowledge of what his government exchanged with Boko Haram for the 21 abducted Chibok girls, saying he would need to return from Germany to be fully briefed.




“This is what I don’t know until I go back. I said the release is on the morning I left and this is not something we will discuss on the telephone,” Mr. Buhari said in the interview with German broadcaster, Deutsche Welle.


Twenty-one Chibok girls were released on Thursday and some government officials said the administration did not give Boko Haram anything in return.


The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, denied a report that the government released Boko Haram detainees for the girls.


“Please note that this is not a swap. It is a release,” Mr. Mohammed told reporters Thursday.


Mr. Mohammed said President Buhari assigned the State Security Service to proceed with the negotiation and credited the release to “painstaking negotiations and trust on both sides”.


During the exchange with Mr. Buhari, Deutsche Welle’s Phil Gayle asked the president if he was aware of an exchange of Boko Haram commanders for the girls as widely reported in the media.


“Until I go back, I will receive a formal briefing on how the negotiations went,”

 “As soon as I go back home I will find out the written confirmation of how it all went.” Buhari said
