Bet You Didn’t Know The Real Names Of These Popular Naija Male Musicians

Have you ever tried to figure out the real names of your favorite Nigerian celebrities?

We know how they like to come up with weird aliases (aka stage names) which have a way of sticking in your brain. Well, I for one ain’t good with names. And I’m pretty sure most of you don’t even know their names either.

So in no particular order here are our top 10 picks for male vocalists in Nigeria:

 1. Tekno – Augustine Miles Kelechi

If I were given 10 guesses to nail this, I still wouldn’t get it.

2. Ycee – Oludemilade Martin Alejo

The Tinny Entertainment singer “busted” our speakers in 2015 with his hit track Jagaban.

3. Mr Eazi – Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade

The Nigerian-born Ghanian based artist signed on to Wizkid’s label actively came into the scene in 2016 with a track currently enjoying massive airplay ‘Anointing’ ft Sarkodie.

4. Patoranking – Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie

I thought an Igbo singer could only make and sell hits if they sang in Igbo, I’ve been so wrong all the while. Who knew?

5. Kiss Daniel – Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel

The baby-faced artist signed onto G-Worldwide Entertainment had us dancing to “Woju” in early 2016. His new track “Mama” is about the new wedding theme song.

6. Falz- Folarin Falana

The lawyer turned rapper/actor and comedian won my heart with his one minute heavy Yoruba-accented videos. See where consistency leads you to- Softwork.

7. Phyno – Azubuike Chibuzo Nelson

He came into the scenes in 2014 with “Alobam” and that changed the game for Hip Hop in Eastern Nigeria.

8. Rekado Banks – Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon

Now this class is getting more interesting and educative. By now I’ve learned never to judge a book by its cover. Everything na “Standard.”

9. Selebobo – Oku Udoka Chigozie

Why in God’s name would anyone pick a name like that? Sele and Bobo. The first impression on my mind, Celestial Church of God Bobo.

10. Lil Kesh – Keshinro Ololade

Y’all remember “Shoki?” Yup, that’s Lil Kesh’s real name. He’s about the second person on the list who coined a stage name from his real name. Dope!

Speaking about her future plans, the ' Standing ovation ' singer revealed plans to work and break into the international market.
According to her, " I definitely don’t want to forget my Nigerian roots. I think that when you sign an international deal, there is this tendency to forget home. We artistes also tend to forget that the main reason they signed you is because you were doing very well at home, so you can’t forget that. So, I am basically just trying to strike a balance with both audience and market. "
The pop star welcomed her son  with estranged husband, Tunji 'Tee Billz' Balogun on July 22, 2015.
