Some people want to bring me down – EFCC boss

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has revealed that some people are trying to bring him down.
Also speaking on the issue, the spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement, frowned at reports on social media alleging that the anti-graft agency's boss is spreading lies.
Uwujaren also said that the reports are an attempt by some group of people to damage Magu's reputation.
He said “In the last week or so, the social media has been awash with fictitious reports, all painting an uncanny picture of desperation by Magu over his purported non-confirmation as substantive chair of the EFCC, and of stricture within the rank and file of the EFCC workforce leading to resignations.
“One of such reports is the one making the rounds in several gossip blogs with the title, ‘How EFCC’s Magu and Sahara Reporters Peddle Lies to the Media’. The report which is a parody of disingenuous invention of falsehood is the handiwork of mischievous people hell-bent on causing disaffection between the Magu-led EFCC and the executive on the one hand, and the members of staff of the EFCC on the other.
“The allusion to bullying and victimization of EFCC staff is clearly designed to instigate the staff of the commission against its leadership as there is no truth in it. For the records, no ‘senior EFCC core official’ has resigned from the commission and insinuation of mass resignation at the commission is mere scaremongering.
“The same applies to the claim that a sensitive unit has been set up in the commission to ‘bug the phone line’ of some persons. This is mischief taken too far!.”

Magu also refuted claims that he is using his position to bully appointees of President Buhari, and some traditional rulers.
The EFCC boss also re-affirmed » that the fight against corruption under his tenure, is not selective.

Graduate Killed By Security Guard

A fresh graduate of the Abia State University, Uturu, has been dispatched to the great beyond by a security guard in the institution.
The young man simply identified as Max , was said to have visited one of the lodges in the school on November 1, 2016, to see some of his friends but he reportedly had an altercation with the guard who brought out a knife and stabbed him to death .
It was gathered that the deceased had celebrated his birthday on October 25, 2016.

But an eyewitness has given a different account of what happened, saying that Max had gone to the lodge to fight some students he had issues with and during the visit, a heated argument ensued between him and the students which led to a fight.
The security guard attached to the private lodge requested that Max leave the environment probably due to the confusion he was creating.
This apparently got Max angry and he engaged the security man in a fight and during the fight, the deceased was said to have picked up a rod which he used to hit and tear the stomach of the guard to the extent that his intestines almost came out.
In anger, the gate man ran into his apartment with his hand holding his torn stomach, picked up his dagger and stabbed Max to death.

The Guys Who Blackmailed Ex-miss Anambra Have Been Apprehended

This citizen reporter, Martin Nworah thinks so. According to him, the police arrested the guys at Enugu. The guys are allegedly part of a 7 member gang who specialise in blackmailing ladies and they are allegedly the guys who leaked the viral lesbian sex video of ex-Miss Anambra, Chidinma Okeke.

A seven man syndicate of young guys who specialize in blackmailing young ladies (especially UNIZIK students) were caught by the police at Enugu.

From investigation, these guys were the people who orchestrated the release of the lesbian video of the former Miss Anambra. They met their waterloo when they tried the same trick on another lady who was a former Unizik student but currently an upcoming actress and a model.

Their mode of operation is very simple. They open female Facebook accounts and scout for unsuspecting young ladies. These guys will operate the said accounts as ladies and become very friendly with the said girls. Inundated with promises of making them become celebrities and promising to crop out their faces before posting pictures, these unsuspecting girls will send nude pictures and shot lesbian videos in return for a particular sum of money(around 100k). Immediately they get hold of these videos or pictures, they will blackmail them into returning the money or else they publish the video or pictures.

I, as Martin Beck Nworah, is categorically stating that this is a verified fact because I have seen victims in the past. And even if you do, they will still keep the materials and use it in blackmailing you when they feel you have become popular or achieved something.

In the case of the former Miss Anambra, after extorting so much money from her, she became fed up and threatened to deal with them since she is now a beauty queen. Remember, her lesbian video was shot in her year one in the university even before she dreamt of contesting for Miss Anambra in 2015. When these boys saw they can no longer extort more money from her, they decided to start releasing her video(One single video they decided to cut in parts). They also screen grabbed parts of the video and released as pictures to the public.

While we wait for official statement from the security outfits, this is not in defense of anybody. I promised to physically follow this issue and see to its logical end. Thank God, we are making progress and getting to the roots. Before you form an opinion on social media, please try and verify facts if you can.
