Comedian and actor, AY makun has described the entertainment industry in Nigeria as a cash cow waiting to be milked.

The comedian’s film “A trip to Jamaica” has set a new benchmark in Nollywood as the first film to beat the box office revenues among the big budget Hollywood titles released in 2016.

AY recently received the award for most successful actor and producer in Nollywood cinema release history.

24,890 LAGOSIANS TEST POSITIVE TO HIV IN 18 MONTHS

While 15,311 Lagosians tested positive to HIV in 2015, another 9,579 others tested positive to the disease between January and June 2016.

Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Aids Control Agency, LSACA, Dr. Oluseyi Temowo disclosed the figures on wednesday in Lagos.

At the event meant to mark this year’s World AIDS Day, Temowo disclosed that 616, 318 people were counselled, tested and received results between January and June 2016, out of which 9,579 individuals were found to be positive.

“In the year 2015, a total number of 599, 560 people were counselled, tested and received results out of which 15, 311 were found to be positive. In 2016 (1st Semester January to June), 616, 318 people were counselled, tested and received results out of which 9,579 individual were found to be positive. However, 52,803 positive individuals are currently on Antiretrovirals (ARVs),” he said.

Former Oyo State Governor To Be Re-arraigned For N4.7bn Fraud


Justice Mohammed Idris-led Lagos High Court has fixed December 14, 2016 for the re-arraignment of a former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, who was accused of N4.7bn fraud.

The date fixed followed the dismissal of Ladoja’s application seeking a stay of proceedings on the grounds that they had an appeal at the Supreme Court.

The Court also refused to endorse the application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to issue a warrant for their arrest.

“The court will not make any order for arrest in the light of the appearance of the accused persons in court,” the judge held.


Man Caught Defiling Neighbour's 3-Year-Old Daughter

A 26-year-old man, Identified as Emeka Utomi, has been arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s three-year-old daughter.

The prosecutor, Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the accused called the girl into his room, inserted his finger into her va gina and was caught in the act by one of the co-tenants.

He was granted N300,000, with two sureties in like sum. and the case adjourned to January 23,
The case was adjourned till January 23, 2017.

Mary Ologbosere Hospitalised As NFF Fails To Pay Off Team





Our very own Falconets defender; Mary Ologbosere has been referred to the traumatic unit of a hospital in Abuja after she suffered from depression following the inability of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay the players on arrival from the U-20 World Cup in Papua New Guinea.

The 18-year-old defender lost her father while the Falconets were at the World Cup and the entire family were counting on her to come back and bury him. However, on return from the World Cup Wednesday afternoon, they were all shocked when they were each paid a miserly N10,000 to return to their various homes.

I Will Continue With Jimoh Ibrahim When We Meet Face To Face

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says his war of words with businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, will not end on the internet.

Fani-Kayode has threatened to deal with Ibrahim, when they see “eyeball to eyeball”.

Both men exchanging banter on social media, after the Court of Appeal sacked Ibrahim and reinstated Eyitayo Jegede as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fani-Kayode mocked Jimoh for losing his appeal at the Supreme Court, before taking the advice of his followers to end the exchange.

Seun Egbegbe remanded in prison


A Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja, yesterday, remanded in Kirikiri PrisonS, Seun Egbegbe, former boyfriend to actress and social media celebrity, Toyin Aimakhu, for alleged theft of 10 pieces of iPhones.



Seun was arraigned before Magistrate Y. O. Aje-Afunwa, on one count charge of theft slammed against him by the police.

Egbegbe, who pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him, was alleged to have committed the offence at the Computer Village, Ikeja, where he requested for the phones.

 The police prosecution told the court that the incident occurred while the sales girl was trying to calculate the items Seun requested for, but that he allegedly ran out of the shop with the phones and tried to board a waiting vehicle.
