Champions League Report : Leo Messi, Mesut Ozil score hat-tricks



– Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick as Barcelona defeated Man City 4 – 0 at Camp Nou

– Mesut Ozil grabbed a second half hat-trick in Arsenal’s hug win over Ludogorets

– Atletico Madrid left it late to defeat Rostov, Napoli suffer third consecutive defeat



Match day three of the Champions League has ended with Lionel Messi spoiling Pep Guardiola’s return to the Camp Nou with a hat-trick while Ozil scored a hat-trick as Arsenal defeated Ludogorets 6 – 0 at the Emirates.

Pep Guardiola’s return to Camp Nou was spoilt by a menacing Lionel Messi. The Argentine score thrice for the Catalans as Claudio Bravo saw red. Jeremy Matheiu also saw red for the Spanish side. Neymar added gloss to the scoreline.

Alexis Sanchez scored a goal of the season contender to open the scoring in Arsenal’s win as he lobbed the goalie from an acute ankle.

Walcott added a second while Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a third early in the second half. Ozil scored the last three as the Gunners won 6 – 0 in front of their own fans.




Yannick Carrasco scored the only goal as Atletico Madrid defeated FC Rostov while Angel Di Maria, Lucas Moura and an Edison Cavani penaly in extra time saw PSG defeat Basel in France.

Lucas Moura celebrates his goal
Vincent Aboubakar scored twice as Besiktas defeated Napoli 3 – 2 in Naples. Former Barcelona star Adriano scored Besiktas first goal before Insigne equalized. Gabbiadini scored a second for the Italians but Aboubakar struck thrice to hand the Turkish side the win.

Hans and Stindl scored late to hand Monchengladbach a 2 – 0 win over Celtic at the Parkhead stadium.

Goals from Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich and Arjen Robben (the latter three all headers) gave bayern Munich a 4 – 1 over PSV at the Allianz Arena.
